The Hamilton Academy of Dentistry is a voluntary professional organization composed of dentists from the greater Hamilton area. Our objective is:

To encourage the improvement of the health of the public

To promote the mutual improvement of its members and the advancement of the art and science of dentistry

To cultivate harmony and good fellowship among its members

To be an integral and active component society of the Ontario Dental Association

Since 1869 the mission of the Hamilton Academy of Dentistry has been to provide support to its members in their pursuit of excellence in the practice of dentistry.  To fulfill this mandate, the Academy provides numerous services to its members including

  • emergency weekend service for patients of HAD members so members need to cover less than one weekend per year
  • mediation of disputes between patients and their HAD dentist
  • continuing education programs
  • social events including golf day, ski day, dinner dance
  • continuing education trips
  • mentoring for new members of the profession
  • liaison with media and other professional organizations
  • public relations
  • representation at the Ontario Dental Association
